Getting Another Guinea Pig

I have one guinea pig who is 4 years old…or maybe 5. I want to get another one for her to have a friend. I have to be told to clean her cage but I think I’m a good owner. How do I convince my parents to let me get another one to give her a friend? Also, would it be okay to get a young one sice she is already 4 or 5?

You just need to prove you’re responsible, you could talk to your parents and say “do you think I’m good at looking after (name)?” and if they say no then ask how you could improve. Don’t tell them right away that you want another one, because you have to prove your responsible first. Once you’ve done that then nicely ask if it would be okay to get her a friend so she’s not so lonely. The ages would be fine together
