Is my camera broken?

I have a canon powere shot and it started getting lines through the screen now the screen is just black, I can still see my preveously taken pictures so I know my screen is not totally broken but I was wandering if it was a gonner or if mabe the little flat round battery thing just needs replaced?

What screen? I’m assuming it’s a digital camera then? Take it to a professional camera repair shop… they’ll do a better job than the guys at Best Buy because they specialize in cameras.

Some cameras have an option for grid lines to help you compose your picture. Perhaps you turned them on.

Also, the display can be turned off to extend battery life. On my 2 Cannon Elphs hitting the “Display” button turned on and off the display and changed the amount of information presented.

Look in your manual to see if your symptoms are simply features you stumbled upon.

I had that happen to a dimage A1. It turned out that I turned a dial on the side and made the screen go streaky and finally blank. After playing with it I figured it out and is o. k.

it may be brocken but you can bring it to like geak squad at best buy hope it still works
