Is God uncaring or just "misunderstood"

Do you feel that God is a tyrant who turns a blind eye to suffering or do you think that all the facts have been twisted around? Is He in fact the benevolent loving Creator who allows us to stray, but will in truth save the day and prove His love? Here is your chance to express your personal truth without being unkind toward others with differing views. I personally feel that He’s misunderstood, but can understand other view points.

Answer #1

I think since the whole thing is so nonsensical, nonexistent would be a better option.

–He has answered every one of my prayers in His time and in His way.–

…while he lets millions starve and live abject lives in africa. I’m sure glad god has got his priorities in order.

Answer #2

Jaz God is not a person first off.. he is not hell bent on killing everyone who sins or we’d all be dead in the bible God recognizes that all humans sin and thats why he sent his son to die for our sins so we wouldn’t have to suffer as a result of our sin.. in the old testament many people died for sinning but that was before the death of Jesus and that was back when humans had to directly answer for their sins (which is what I’m guessing your referring to obviously you are ill informed and have not read the bible for yourself) Jesus died so we wouldn’t have to suffer thru sin any longer.. also he is not disgusting he’s more pure then any human including you.. and he definately is not hell-bent on anything he does.. he is righteous, his judgement is perfect, his love for us is pure he created hell for people who turned from him but he wishes all of us to accept him into our lives and ultimately join him in heaven.. he doesn’t decide for us whether we go to heaven or hell thats our own decision thru how we live our lives..

Answer #3

Man brings suffering to man.. humans were given the right to free will and many of them turned this world into a craphole thru that ability.. but thats no less then what the bible prophecized I think God doesnt turn a blind eye to us.. or at least no less then we turn a blind eye to him.. people hate god and speak out against him and they wonder why he doesnt always pop right out when they pray in there most desperate hours.. the love of god is always there but if your child denounced you and screamed out blasphemies in your face with all the gifts you had given them would you be so kind as god is to still give love and a reached out hand.. god always comes halfway for us we just have to meet him and most people these days have forgotten that.. they act as though god owes them something that they have done something to deserve things.. god has given us this earth and unconditional love and the sacrifice of his own son to save us from sin what more should you ask for?? God doesnt bring suffering we do and its time we realized it and started changing the way things have gotten.

Answer #4

God has is and always will be the same.

He is love, and He will bring judgement to everyone, he’s misunterstood

Answer #5

I dont beleive in any god but from what I’ve heard about the chrsitian god (from other christians talking about it and there bible) he is a digusting person who is hell-bent on killing everyone who sins against him

Answer #6

He has answered every one of my prayers in His time and in His way.

…yeah well, if you consider every prayer has only THREE possible answers, that isn’t very impressive…

Answer #7

and I guess to answer the question I believe to a large number of people God is misunderstood but its those peoples own fault that they dont understand him.. all of the answers they could find through the bible and prayer and living a life for God.. most of the people who dont understand God don’t attempt to understand God.

Answer #8

one thing that I really hate that people belive id that everything happens for a reason, that like saying if your mom died tomorow it happend because god wanted to or because it needed to its so stupid, and how is just saying something in your head gonna reach ¨god¨. I don’t know thats just my personal belief

Answer #9

I believe God is the creator of all. He loves everything he creates But he gave us free will So our choices and actions are controlled by us God is there to pull us out of the crap we get ourselves into He is my Rock, Strength, Father and I love him with all of my heart.

Answer #10

I think He is honest and good. I do not think he was a tyrant. I think he loves and cares and is the creator that will always help us.

Answer #11

IF you PRAY TO GOD you WILL CERTAINLY GET AN ANSWER. THIS IS JUST A NOTION OR INACTIVITY THOUGHT BY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.

BUT TO ME, AND I DONT EVEN REALLY PRAY THAT MUCH I FEEL THAT GOD IS EITHER A NEXT MOTHER OR FATHER TO PROTECT EVERYONE IN THE WORLD.

GOD IS A SENCE OF ESSENCE AND ASLO A SENCE OF PURITY. GOD PROVIDED THE QUARAN FOR MUSLIMS AND BIBLE FOR CHRISTIANTY TO HELP THEM MAKE HIS/HER WAY IN LIFE.

MAYBE FOR PEOPLE IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE IN GOD, BUT WHEN YOU START PRAYING FOR HIM AND YOURSELF YOU START TO FEEL THE MOTION OF A CLENSED BODY AND MIND. BY READING THE HOLY BIBLE OR THE QUARAN THIS WILL BROADEN YOUR HOIZEN ON HOW YOU SEE THE WORLD AND IT WILL ALSO HELP YOU IN UNDERSTANDING WHAT WAY you WANT TO GO IN LIFE.

Answer #12

^^ yes, I know its not a person but back in the day, when the bible wasnt changed so much, ALL the christian god did was kill people and cause plauges and terrifying things to punnish or kill them for sinning against him but nowdays it seems like christians have forgotten that and just swept it under the rug and since I dont beleive in it (your god) I dont beleive it will ever be more “ pure “ then me but thanks for being a typical christian and showing your need point out how your god is “ perfect “ and why we should “ all “ beleive in it

Answer #13

God is God and that is just the way it is! He has answered every one of my prayers in His time and in His way. It will always be His will. I understand that it is hard to wrap ones mind around something that we cannot see, but we do see HIM in all things that are good, wholesome, wonderful, honest, and worthy. This is not complet life here. We are only here for a blink of an eye. Eternity with HIM is forever. Our purpose here is to having loving relationships that guide others to HIM, that is it! If you can do that, you have just begun a beautiful path to eternity.

Answer #14

The problem with “The Free Will” answer, that is, God gave us free will to do what we want and thus the world is now in a shithole because of it. Well, the problem is that there are a lot of good people who are kind, generous, loving, forgiving, etc…But these kind humans are being killed by as-holes. So, why didnt God protect them? You have these evil people who are using their “free will” incorrectly and they kill people who has chosen to use “free will” correctly. The whole thing is a complete sham. God hates humans because he lets the cruel evil “free will” abusers kill the kind good “free will” lovers. God is a complete sham. He hates us.

Answer #15

I believe there is no God. But when I was Christian I prayed everyday for my mom to divorce my dad,and never got it. It’s like God only helps certain people.

Answer #16

This is a question based on several assumptions. Well of course that there is a God…

  1. There is only one God
  2. Your God is omnipotent
  3. Your God does actually control events and actions
  4. Your God CAN do certain things but CHOOSES not to
  5. God is whatever your version of God is

So. Based on your ASSUMPTIONS about God. Any God that would allow children to starve to death is cruel, unloving, uncaring, hmm, evil?

Answer #17

IF he exists, he would have to be the most misunderstood AND mysterious being in history.

Answer #18

…neither…

Because there ARE NO FACTS to twist around in the first place.

Answer #19

yeah, all these nice people getting killed and we are supposed to be like: “Oh, God gave free will to man, and some of these people use their free will badly by killing god-loving, law-abiding, family-loving people.” SHAM! God hates you and God hates me. God has decided to punish me because Adam ate an apple. If God told me not to eat an apple, I would not eat an apple. What a joke! All of humanity is being punished because Adam was a loser! Its not my fault that Adam was a stupid f%ck. But, God has decided to punish humanity. That is what I call HOLDING A GRUDGE! God hates us.

Answer #20

Oh my my. So you believe in a literal APPLE? as the cause of man’s fall? I guess you have misunderstood the whole story. Why did God send physical death to the world He gave Adam to rule? Many people are frightened of death. Most non-Christians look at the suffering and death in our world and conclude that God must not really be good or loving or even all-powerful. Why would God create a world filled with suffering and death? They fail to see that God created a perfect world, a world free from death. Death is the result of sin, man’s rebellion against God. However, in love Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) died in our place and was victorious over death. This is the message of the Gospel!

The final effect of Adam’s rebellion might have been eternal separation from God for all humanity. Because of His love, however, God set into motion a plan to one day reunite Himself with man forever. He judged with death, the just penalty for sin, and God used the death of His Son to reconcile the world.

He then sent His only Son, to become a man like us and to bring us back to Himself. Jesus suffered the Father’s penalty of death in His own body. As the only acceptable sacrifice, He shed His spotless, sinless blood to cover the sins of all who would trust in Him. He tasted death for everyone (Hebrews 2:9). He then rose from the dead, demonstrating His power and righteousness. One day he will “put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death” (I Corinthians 15:25-26, NIV)

Although many have and continue to attack the veracity of biblical scripture due to their disdain and/or lack of understanding of the Bible’s teachings, some are asking some legitimate questions about God’s word. They may appear to be attacks at first; but, careful observation will reveal when someone doesn’t want to profess belief in the Bible knowing they understand only a fraction of what they read. This type of questioning is good and helps to prepare the serious Christian for “entry-level” street ministry where people will not refrain from asking difficult and troubling questions.

Why are we here? God created us because it pleased Him to do so. This message is consistent throughout the pages of Scripture, and nowhere said more succinctly than by the Apostle John in Revelation 4:11, where he has a vision of Heaven and witnesses the four elders prostrate before the Lord of all Creation, saying: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. We are created for His pleasure. From the first page of Scripture to the last, that message is clear. We are created for His pleasure. Further, the Apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 1:16: For by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him. If we accept that all this is true, and that any other answer is both illogical and devoid of hope, then the next question to ask is - what do we do about it? Or more to the point, what do you and I do about it?

Having concluded that mankind exists to please God, the challenge becomes personal. What do I do about it? How can I, me, one person - possibly please such a big, huge, infinite God? The Bible gives us those answers too. For now, we can rest in this truth - none of us is here by accident. We were planned and wanted by our Heavenly Father from before the beginning of time (Psalm 139).

So let me ask you … now who’s holding the grudge and who’s ^MISUNDERSTOOD^?
