Is anybody doing anything to stop the injustice in Saudi Arabia?
How many times have I picked up the newspaper and heard about women and also men from third world countries being mistreated badly ,not to mentionl sexually abused while working in saudi arabia.I mean ,when I move to Melbourne,Australia and be a student and work there,I can stay there without any worries. I mean I know that if I am mistreated the law will be on my side. Why isn’t it like that in saudi arabia.I mean only because it is an oil rich nation doesn’t mean you can start treating others that badly. Female house workers get raped and abused and have acid poured all over their face and they can’t do anything about it.The frequency of that happening is just to high.Too high that I am surprised it doesn’t disturb any diplomatic relations between these countries and them. What the hell are the embassy’s for???What the hell are you doing???Your suppose to protect your citizens rights in a foreign country???One Japanese reporter who got shot in Myanmar is enough to start havoc amongst the two countries but hundreds of abused people from third world countries working in saudi arabia don’t mean a thing. Is it because we have greater interest in saudi oil to turn our heads the other way to the pain and sufferings our own people go through. We should be ashamed of ourselves!
No problem, asmiramahmoud - have a great day !!
I am a Christian - my comment above was from that perspective - that is my observation…Take care !!
I still remember the murderers and innocent victims of 9-11-01.
They practice the “Religion of Peace”.
In today’s world, it is acceptable to criticize anything Christian - not acceptable to ctiticize anything Muslim.
people lets face it, raping isn’t only in SAUDI ARABIA besides that filipino woman have a choice between stucking in her house or live her life, besides if she knew that saudi arabia like that why did she went there anyway, dont tell me to make many bcoz there are many making money chances.
“We were always kept in our rooms…they locked the doors from the outside.” — Indian Muslim woman employed as a hospital cleaner in Jeddah, 1998 - 2000.
“I was not allowed to leave the house.” — Filipina Christian woman who worked for a Saudi family in Jeddah for four months in 2003.

Regarding the story about the married saudi woman who was re-sentenced to 6 months in prison and 200 lashes [http://asmira-mahmoud.livejournal.com/#asset-… ], I am disturbed by the way that Saudi Arabia is trying to cover up reality of their Abuse and Injustice - in this case to a 19 yr old married female citizen - and giving the world impressions such as, “She was an adulteress in the first place”.
If this gang-raped woman was indeed an was an adulteress, why would she, her husband or her lawyer go to the Western media in the first place?
This is just another of the Saudi cover ups so that they can try to maintain an innocent image of their country.
I personally know of first hand stories of innocent foreign workers in the saudi kindgom forced against their will into signing false statements/contracts written in Arabic, and then prosecuted on the basis of the signed documents.
Moreover, there are foreigners who do not practice their state religion - the Wahabi islam - being persecuted whether they be Muslim, Christian or Hindu. More often than normal, these innocent workers are falsely accused of drug and indecent pictures possession and then deported, sentenced to imprisonment or beheaded. How sad!
Cover ups! Over and Over again!!! The Saudi Government and its judicial and legal systems need to grow up to become civilized. It is well beyond time for them to start acting like human beings and learn how to treat others - whether female or male, whether foreigners or citizens, whether Wahabi muslims or not - with dignity, honor, respect, tolerance and individual freedom!
Oh yes I have to agree. This is not a religion issue. It is more about rich nations treating the poor ones with disrespect in the form of abusing their citizens. I am so sorry I apologize cleopatra it’s not about religion. I hope you didn’t get the wrong idea.
Sorry I misunderstood your earlier comment!
I disagree with you amblessed. We need to speak out against every evil whether it is Christian, Muslim, or whatever form it takes the shape of. I am sure no one is stopping yu to speak up against the Christian things that youfeel are wrong. It is your freedom, friend. Use it while you have it. Help those who are helpless. Speak up for those who cant speak for themselves.
If it was your sister that was abused or raped in Saudi Arabia, do you think you are going to keep quiet about it? I really don’t think so. This is what is happening every day and EVERY NIGHT to thousands of foreign and local females in Saudi Arabia - mistreatment, non-payment of wages, harrassment, emotional, physical and SEXUAL abuse, torture, rape…etc
you don’t only hear this in Saudi Arabia but throughout the Gulf region as well. The authorities start to take such matters seriously only when it involves citizens from the West but those from third world countries don’t really get a look in. In a sense the governments of third world countries should take a stricter line with treatment of their own citizens in the Gulf. Why can’t they do that rather than let these countries walk all over them. Maybe it is about money after all.
it isn’t ok to ignore bad treating cause they are rich or having oil if someone was hurt or abused in saudi arabia or in any other country she/he must go to the police station or the empassy, everyone deserve to be respected no matter what their religion or nationality is,and believe me amblessed “the religion of peace” is not the reason its just human nature, israel says that they r “god’s chosen nation” and they kill children in palestine everyday but we don’t hate all jews for that, enough judging people according to their religion.wish you all love and peace
that’s ok I understand you take care and chin up you deserve to be treated well
