My neighbour recently bought a Gucci bag for about 1.500 dollar. (onethousand fivehundred). I would never spent that much money on a bag-The most expensive bag I have was 150 dollars, and I got it from my grandparents for my birthday. I don't think you have to spend that much money on a bag, there are so many bags out there that are almost as nice or even nicer then a "real Gucci bag". And most importantly, they are cheaper! I'm not saying you have to carry around bags from Walmart all the time, but I think you CAN go over the top sometime.
I worked my way through college in bicycle shops in the 1980s. One shop I worked at had a $3,200 bicycle. Lots of non-cyclists would come in the shop and ask us what the heck could possibly make a bicylce worth that much. When I had time I patiently explained that the parts were made from exotic alloys and rather than be made on an assembly line the frame represented many hours of hand work by skilled artisans, etc. Other times I'd make a joke or just blow them off.
I for the life of me don't know what can make a purse worth $1,500 or a watch worth $5,000. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that there is something special about them that I just don't appreciate just like non-cyclists can't appreciate a high end bicycle.
I have a friend who had a Gucci bag given to her, and she called me up and bragged about how she just got this beautiful $1500 Gucci bag for free. She went on about it for a good half hour (all the while I held my breath even though I wanted to tell her I really don't give a damn).
She came over later that day to show it to me, and I couldn't help it, I told her exactly what I thought - it was the most god-awful looking thing I'd ever seen and someone would have to be on serious drugs to pay $1500 for something that looked like it came out of somebody's dumpster.

it's their money... they really should be free to spend it on whatever makes them happy...personally if I had 1500 to spend on a bag, I'd rather spend it on something else... (some sort of charity for example), but whatever, I'm not going to judge people...
hey , Its up to your friend isnt it , I mean if she has money and thats what she chooses to spend it on thn yh she should , also the quality of them is amazing so thts why its worth it , and what you dont like she may love - so don't be harsh on her. x
well yeah durr. I'll buy a bag for 15-20$ maybe but not no 1500$ like are you crazy or just really ritch? if your rich then who really cares if money aint a thang:P just make sure you donate some to charity.
Thats not a lot. I have a gucci bag and it cost meeh 2000 dollars. I have lots of chanel, coach, gucci etc. I mean if you got money you can spend it on whatever. So I got money so its whatever!!!
I would say, "To each his or her own." If you are not certain what I mean, I am referencing a quote "To each his own," which means basically that that decision is in the eye of the beholder.
thats not a lot for a gucci bag my mom has lots of gucci,prada,chanel etc. bags she brought me 1 for my birthday £2100 with the shoes to match £700
yes it is ridiculous for someone to spend that much on a purse. anyone who says otherwise needs to get there head out of the clouds
Wow - I think spending that much for a BAG is ridiculous. There's no way I'd ever spend more than $100 on a friggin' bag.
I mean if you got money like that then why not. I spent $350 on a pair of prada shoes..so why not
YEAH that is a lot of money the most money I have spent on a bag is about $50.00.
