Is it illegal to sing and play guitar for money in the streets of NYC?

It is in some parts of the world but usually your there for a good couple of hours before the cops come and escort you from the area. If someone finds you in front of their business or something.

I see tons of homeless people (never singing or anything) on the side of the highway exit asking for money, I saw one downtown, another one at a street corner. So I think if their able to stay out there you can too like I said before in the top paragraph above.

This is called busking. It is legal some places and illegal others. Some places where it is illegal the law isn’t enforced because the police have more important things to do or perhaps because they enjoy the music.

I think that it depends where you are doing it, if you are doing it like in some place where there is other buissness around and stuff and you are doing it there, I would think that is not ok, but if it’s somewhere like on a busy highway street or something I think that is ok. But I also think that it depends on where you live and the laws there.
