how to play guitar AND sing?!?

so, I dont really know how to play the guitar. like at all, I teach myself, off line and stuff. lol, well I just learned a song yesturday, now im obsesseddd with it. but I can not sing and play at the same time! for my life. I really want to, just when I try singing, I get the rhythem and tempo alll off beat and then I just mess up.

I need some tips. I know, practice. but I canttt. im TRYING here, I just can sing while playing. any one know anything that’ll help? thankss :]

Start with a simple song with only a few chords and a relatively easy rhythm, a song that you could play in your sleep, maybe, like the first song that you learned and play slowly with singing as well, really, its only practice practice practice

yeah singing and playing guitar is difficult.. took me awhile to master it.. its all about rhythm and there arent really any shortcuts to learn rhythm you just gotta practice.. if you cant practice well then tough O.O hate to say it but thats the only way.

or you could just strum the song and sing only the stumming parts

start with a simple song like better together by jack johnson or coffee shop soundtrack by all time low. those were the first song I learned to sing and play because of the simplicity :P
