Can any one tell me that it is correct sentance 1- The police chief shouted at his subordinates since they could only catch the red handed while the king pin remained free.
No, it isn't. Correct sentence would be: The police chief shouted at his subordinates because they were only able to catch some of the criminals red-handed while the king pin remained free. It's quite a long sentence though and might be better broken up as follows. The police chief shouted at his subordinates. He was angry because they were only able to catch some of the criminals red-handed. The king-pin, the one he really wanted, remained free.
You can't catch 'red-handed' - you can only catch someone red-handed. It means in the act of doing something wrong. Example. The police caught the gang red-handed.
Please tell me that use of red handed is correct or not?
