How can I get more traffic to my home-based business site?

I own a home based business. Over 45 days ago, I invested in a business opportunity, that involves connecting customers to Loan authorities; regarding Mortgages, First time Home Loans, Refinancing, & Debit Consolidation. I have my web site up & running and yet as I have patiently waited for responses checking every few days to see if a lead has came in. I am finding that the growth of my business is not up to my expectations. I have produced my own fliers, have gained permission from local businesses in my area to post them. I even have my own business cards. In addition to this, I’ve conducted over 30 Search engine submissions for information on my web site to be posted . Including Google, Yahoo, Msn, Lycos, amongst other Major and minor know search engine sites. Yet, so far being through internet & traditional means of advertising.

I have came to a whopping total of Two Leads, thus far. I am a little bit perturbed, as I had hoped to supplement my current income. I realize such things take time, yet I am questioning whether or not there might be any other alternative venues I may take, to aid in the efforts of my growing a larger stream of traffic to my site. If you happen to think of any suggestions, ideas, or know of any known resources of which I may utilize. I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you! ~Benjamin~

In 2003 when we started FunAdvice, it was based on a very narrow set of topics - basically, love & relationships. That’s why that category is the largest & most active on the site today.

We also used coolsiteoftheday.com, which is a site announcement service, and started to ask friends & family to use the site, let us know what they thought, etc.

What I would recommend you do:

  1. make sure it’s clear on your site you have a unique reason for people to visit. For example lendingtree.com got famous because with one application, you could connect to four banks. Is it the personal service you offer that would encourage people to use your site?
  2. update is frequently as there is news, happenings in the financial & lon markets constantly, and less competition for sites that have breaking news, because “old news” has been syndicated and repurposed a dozen times over.
  3. make sure you’re excited about the business! If you’re not excited you won’t do well.

If possible, add a blog feature to the site to update that regularly with news, comments, etc, and add a blog roll to it, as well as submit the blog to technorati (use their tags feature) and submit the site to del.icio.us, and other social bookmarking sites if you know any others.

Perhaps also if you make the site clearly about a subsection of the market, it’ll be easier to get traffic to the site. My day job is internet marketing as a consultant, and I’ve spent more than seven years learning how to promote sites…this was after learning all the wrong ways to do things in college part time for two years :)

Good luck with your business, and hope this helps some.

Even though this site changes the url click on them and see how easy it is. Dont pay for visitors. I made the mistake of that. they dont send real people to your site. I use a system called free viral. http://funadvice.com/r/15m1ubk7sc0 It is free. It does bring visitors to your site forever. It takes little effort, but it does take posts like this to get the word out. You will have a million visitors in a month or two if you work at it. Go to my website http://funadvice.com/r/15m1ubk7tp3 click on the visitors banner, or copy my banner and use it to place your link in the system. I just dont want you to spend money on useless promises when you can use a free system. Hope this helps. Please use the link here http://funadvice.com/r/15m1ubk7sc0 and check it out for yourself
