How can I work when I'm 13?

Federal child labor laws make it illegal to hire 13 year olds for most jobs. Agriculture is an exeption. You may be able to find a farm job. Otherwise you will have to wait. There are also state child labor laws that may apply to your situation.

For the most part because of the laws you are not going to be able to do any real work but there are alot of places that will give you work although it will be part time at best. Check at like construction companies as at times they will hire young people as “Go Fors” (gophers) or to do meanial work such as varnishing doors, cleaning up the sites, etc… Check with farming as you can bale hay, milk cows, field work, etc… Check with diners as they may give you work cleaning up or doing dishes. Start doing lawn work around your neiborhood, get a paper route, etc…..
