I'm going to be a first time parent any advice?

I’m due for a baby boy November 7th. I AM FREAKING OUT. I just held a child for the first time the other day. Does any one have any advice they wish they would have had?

LOL, get ready for your life to be completely turned upside down and all your priorities to change. Seriously, the amount of time and energy I spent on breathing lessons and preparing for the birth itself — was so miniscule compared to how that first year was.

Whatever sounds negative, e.g. he;s 2 months old and refuses to stop crying and you;re still in your PJs when dad gets home at 6 pm… is totally offset by the joy you’ll feel at having someone new to love and watch grow.

You will become a protector. You will change from a child into a parent - and you will be amazed at your new abilities and intuition to comfort this little being and teach him how to become a part of the world.

Talk a lot to other new mothers, and come back here when time permits, for extra help… you’re in for a wonderful experience and all the bad times and lack of sleep will be worth it.
