Do you think I'm crazy that I want a baby?

I want a baby I’m 16 and my boyfriend isn’t ready. I’d give almost anything to have one. What should I do?

I would not say you are crazy. There is nothing wrong with wanting something.

However, I would say that you were unbelievably selfish if you did decide to have a baby soon. You know your boyfriend isn’t ready, so it would not be right to force him to do something he is not comfortable with.

Also, at 16 years old, there is no way you can give a baby everything it deserves. Before you even start trying you should probably:

-Have money -Have your own place to live with room for another person -Have health insurance -Have a way to get to the ob-gyn often -Take prenatal vitamins -Have a job that will offer maternity leave and/or a partner who can support all three of you -Have a good understanding of fertility, cycles, reproductive anatomy, prenatal development, and child development -Finish college.

Very few 16 years olds have all of that.

I too would suggest you wait, you are so young, enjoy life, there is plenty of time to worry about dirty nappies and sleepless nights and everything else. Also if you pressure your boyfriend who you say is not ready to have kids you will probably scare him away.

I would definitly wait till your financially stable and your with someone who is ready. i was 17 yrs old when i got pregnant and the father said he would be there for me and now my daughter is 7yrs old dont even really know him and i am really struggling to get by. working my butt off and living check to check. So i would suggust really waiting
