I have mice

We have just sortec out our garage and we have discovered lots of chewed up things and eatten chocolate!!! We even caught one in out bin and have seen a nest!!! I have put mouse traps down and have used chocolate on the traps but its been 4 days now and I’ve not caught anything!!! I know they are there as my partner has put a box of sweets in there a few weeks agao and they had a munch on that!!! I really dont want them to come into the house!!!

Where do you put the traps? I’ve just lace mine on the floor by the door, by the feezer etc. Is there good places to put them?

Do I just keep leaving traps down forever??? Or is there something else I can use to keep them away?

Poison isnt an option as I have 2 dogs.

Help?

Agree with alkane - cats are fantastic. That’s one reason why they were sacred to the ancient Egyptians - they protected the granaries, with all the precious harvest.

BTW you can tell your neighbor that the cat is unlikely to eat the mice (and pick up worms etc) - they kill by instinct, not necessarily for food.

other than getting a cat…

use peanutbutter on the traps. It is really sticky, so they have a hard time just taking it and leaving. They hang out at the trap and chew on the peanut butter and the trap snaps and gets them.

Sometimes it misses, but peanut butter has worked the best for me in the past.

put the traps by where the mice run. the edges of walls, in corners, behind appliances.

chances are, if you have an attached garage, the mice are already in your house, so you could put some traps in the kitchen like under the sink.

Answer #6

You can buy mouse traps at any hardware store…or Walmart even…

I’ve always had great luck with a little piece of bacon. They love bacon, and they have to tug it to get it, making trapping more successful.

Answer #7

on watevr kind of rat traps you have try puttin peanut butter on dem datsz how we got rid of them or you can also but something that deyll eat and kills dem

Answer #8

Do they keep eating the food off the traps because that’s what happened to us, they were eating the food off the trap but not gettin caught. So we put poison down and we realised that they were eating that but we still had mice.

Anyway one morning we saw a cat in our garden and it was sniffing out our shed (where the mice were). That evening there were about three dead mice in our shed and two in the garden. Since then we haven’t seen any sign of mice. So if I were you I would put a cat in your garage, borrow a neighbours or something.
