I cut and the person that can give me help wount

I finally told my dad that I cut and that I have been for about 4 years. He said that he would set up and appoiuntment for me to see someone but that was about a month and a half ago. He thinks that I can just snap out of it and when ever I “mope around” thats exactly what he says. He makes it worse by saying that I am selfish (how? I do nothing. I sit in my room and do what I am asked and I dont bother people. I stopped standing up for myself long ago.) that I am disrespectful(if I am then I dont intend it to be. I have nothing but respect for my father.) and that I am a lyer(how? I have nothing to lie about because no one asks anything to lie about.) he doesn’t think that bipolar disorder and depression are real. He thin ks that everything that I do is for attention. What attention!!!??? Almost four years I have keept this from you? 4 years! Really dad? Attention? Yeah. Lets go with this and have me not trust you to go to for help because you never aggree or listen all you do is acuse!! …sorry. I really am. …I just want to know where I can get help to stop. I have been trying for a year… I need and want help. And I am losing hope…im sorry about that.

but im 14 and I cant see someone without parental consent

Answer #2

I am pretty aure that I know how you feel. I’m not gonna say that I do cause everyine is different.
everything you said about how your dad thinks you lie and disrespect him and stuff… I know what its like.

I personnaly just gave up on my parents and involuntarily adopted my friends (who understand me more than my parents do) as my family. I can count on them more than my parents cause they also have an idea bout what its like

girl my sister I kinda the same way and she wouldnt tell no one but me oso what we did was go to the hospital and they refered her to someone that can help her and we did go to the place they refered they helped her and played games and ii was there for her support so it was like me and her together fighting this. and now she is all better and she is living a great life with a new outfit’s and a boyfriend so I think you should go to a friend or a family member you can trust and tell them that you need help since your dad isnt trying to help you do this just remember your perents will always care its just that they dont always know the answers to everything that you come at them with and they always will love you

Your profile doesn’t say what country you are in so I just have to assume the United States.

I think that in all states there is a child protection agency. On your own you can go to them to seek help. They might be able to help your dad realize that you do have a problem which needs medical intervention.
