I am 5'7" female. I have never been above 170 my whole life, I lost some pounds with diet and exercise and was done to 139 and kept it off for several months. this past January I started gaining 10 to 15 pounds a month and I am still gaining, I work out, I eat right, I have even started weight watchers and I am STILL gaining a pound or two a week. I feel like my doctor is not listening to me, he says its just age. I am now 24 and 230 pounds...thats 90 pounds since jan. 09 and its now November. Does anyone have any advice. I dont know what to do.

What did you change during the 'several months' you kept it off? I think you should take responsibility for your diet and exercise. Yes, maybe it could be a medical condition- but it seems you are using that as a crutch. It seems as if you are not taking control of this issue. You have the ability to lose it once - you can do it again. You have to burn more than you consume. If you feel your doctor is 'not listening to you' please see another doctor. If you have been struggling for all this time- why havent you seen another doctor? Any struggle, challenge you endure is well worth it. This is your health we are talking about - your body- your life! I imagine you would be considered obese based on your weight- let this be a wake up call to you. Think about how it would feel to not be able to walk when you are 35 because the weight becomes too heavy for your knees. You are far too young to be so heavy- dont let it get worse! You have control over this and you CAN do it! Are you eating a lot? When and why and what do you eat? Ask yourself these questions. Are you eating when you are sad? - Address what you are sad about and fix it- or cope in other ways. Please talk to another doctor, or even a nutritionist- I would hate for this to get worse for you. You did it before -that means you can do it again! How to gain weight and stop the teasing?
