I had the same problem trying to gain weight for varsity football in high school (im 20 now), I was shorter so I wanted to become more stocky (I played inside linebacker). what I did was start off by taking muscle milk to get my body associated with supplements and diet correctly. while I was at the university of michigan football camp I asked the team doctor what to eat, and he gave me the following recipee (it worked wonders)

-peanut butter -vanilla ice cream -milk -flavorless protein powder

[while taking amino acid capsules BCAA]

all blended together in a shake. you will gain weight, but make sure you work out even harder and keep up with your cardio or you will get fat!

I went from 5’7.5 174 lbs with a 5.35 forty to 5’8 194 lbs with a 4.96 forty

hope this was helpful!

Be careful, you want to bulk up with muscle…not fat. Bulking up properly takes dedication, supplements will only take you so far. You must be able to easily lift your own body weight using pull ups, push ups, and dips. This will minimize the chance of hurting yourself. Just so you know…I’m 6’ 3” 300 lbs, and I’m not fat (no steroids, just hard work). SAFETY FIRST! Try pyramid reps 5 x each(1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1) 1 is the lowest weight, 5 is the highest, all without a rest. It’s hard to explain…think about it. Try doing negatives on the bench and squats. They will require two experienced spotters. The goal is to control in slow motion (not pushing the weight) just above your max weight, when you get to the bottom of the down cycle…the spotters will lift it off your chest…then do it again. This can be very dangerous…the spotters must be paying very close attention in case you lose control of the weight. Good luck!
