How to write an amazing song??

I write all the time but I feel like my stuff is more like poetry, so do you have any tips on how to write great songs?? how can I build an amazing song?

Make sure your extremely inspired. then write! make it flow. flow is very important. Also,you don’t want to make it too obvious(what your writing about).use metaphors or explain certain situations so people can relate or take it in their own way. the best thing to do is to write a lot and you will just get better.

Well, I’ve written plenty of songs but my personal opinion is: The absolute most amazing songs are the ones that have all the truth and emotion your feeling. When your upset, jot down what your feeling and if you want you can sorta code your words. My friend Kenny writes and sings me his songs all the time (he likes me lol but I don’t feel that way about him) anyways, and they have such an emotional pull on you. So jot what your feeling and when you write, put every ounce of emotion in it. Tell a story with your song that lets people see and feel what your going through and it will most likely strike familiar grounds with them. A poem is actually probably a good way to do a song because a poem already has that raw emotion.
