How to tell your son not to touch him slef infront of fam & friends

Well my son touches him self down there when hes eatting supper or if were out in public or like when ever he feel like it now mind you hes only 6 well him and I have the same birthday. So how should I tell him not to do it, And I mean my son thinks hes like 12 or some thing because he acts so much older but like he still touches him self. Thank you, Demika Ray

My oldest son does the same thing. When I catch him I very gently take his hand and rub his palm and then place his fingers on his nose…strange, I know…but it works. He doesn’t do it as much.

Distracting him and giving him something else to do with his fingers really does work.

This is actually a quite common problem among you children.

I’ve read about it somewhat and it IS NEVER recommended to hit the child or to embarrass him in public, rather try and distract him whenever he does that, direct his attention else where.

tell him thats a private part that he shouldnt touch in public when he does it, lightly smack his hand and tell him not to worse comes to worse make him keep his hands in his pockets hope this helps some

just sit him down at home and tell him that its not for public. and if he does do it in public just nicely tell him ‘’not here’’. tell him that if he wants to do it that he can do that in his own privacy.
