How do I keep a beta fishes bowl warm in the winter and how do I do it in the summer? I dont really want a heater as he is going to be a decoration as well as a companion. So sorry for the awful typing! I am using an ipod!
I like the florescent idea but let me just correct you on the sun thing. The sun doesn't change temperatures according to the seasons, if thats what your trying to say. The earth is at its closest point to the sun during the winter, during that time the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun making the temperatures significantly colder (thats why the south and north have opposite temperatures) you might think that the sun isn't warmer during the winter because its typically cold but that isn't true. The temperature of the suns rays are a bit constant (I believe) in temperature.
Without a heater, I would try keeping it where the sunlight can hit it without having the cool air breeze in. That should keep it relatively warm. In the summer I would try keeping it in the shade so it can keep cool and not heat up. Hope that helps, you might have to move him a bit but I think its worth it :)
as hysterical has said, it's kinda tricky without a heater, especially in the winter, moving it in sunlight wont help much since the winter's sun isn't that warm. I'd suggest a floressent desk lamp!! and in the summer just keeping the light off
