I have just started helping out at a Rainbows group (Like Brownies, Guides etc.) I have been there one night but I was wondering if there were any tips on how to get to know the girls and get them to like me. It's not like they don't like me, but another girl helps out and they practically cling to her. Do you think that it would just take time until they get used to me??? Help would be appreciated :)
Just be honest and trustworthy with each girl and make sure that when they talk to you you actually listen and respond. Be helpful, positive and cheerful. Don't worry about being popular with them. As they learn to trust and respect you, they will start "clinging" to you more and you will be popular.

when I was six I was in girl scouts and to introduce me to the troup we sat in a circle and said one thing that we are interested in (hobbies, interest, ect.) and we also said one thing we had done this year that was fun. or to get to know the other girl's names sit in a circle and then one person will say their name, then the next person will say their name and the persons name before them, then the next person will say their name and the two people before thems name, and ect. They will get to know you soon enough your just the new helper :) Just be fun and trustworthy and they'll soon treat you like that too.
