how to/should I contact my dad?

my current dad is my stepfather and he adopted me so I would have his last name. But my(I wanna say real dad but I dont know if those are the right words) dad’s name was different. I dont know a whole lot I just know he was in prison when I was born for commiting murder. I dont know when he got out or how old I was. I know that I would go see him on week ends and I would wait by the window at my grandmas till he would pick me up for the weekend and half the time he did not show up. I also know he was in gangs and did drugs I dont know this for sure but its what my parents have told me. when I was adopted we tried 2 contact him so he could approve but when the police found him he said he didnt care. That kills me to think he said that. But I found out that he calls my grandma a lot to try to get ahold of me. I know that he is wanted by the police maybe FBI I am not sure I know at one point he was. but he may not be now. the reason I am asking you this is because I want to contact him. I have this feeling inside me that he has changed. (which could be complete BS) his old way of contacting me was to go to my grandparents house. which is in the Midwest thats where I was born and were he may or may not live. I just want to know if there is anywhere in the bible that could help me know weather its a good idea or would be bad. I also want your opinion. I dont know if it would be safe to see him or not and I am pretty sure that me contacting him or him contacting him is illegal till I am 18 but I dont know if hes alive or not. that question has scared me I know gangs aren’t all that safe. so if you could give me your opinion and any advice that would be helpful. If you dont mind I would rather my mom or dad not know. if I do decide to contact him I will tell them though your answers don’t have to be religious. and I would like to contact him but would imagine that would be difficult.

The Bible says “kavod av ve mecha…” that is Hebrew “Honour thy father and mother” and it continues “so that thy days may be lengthened in the land the Lord your God has given you”, therefore seek your father. I do not believe it is illegal for you to contact your father even if you are under 18. Generally your father would want to see you more if you would not have such a graphic description of him even on a public site like the internet. Some might not like it in case he is not living, and they would have some connection. Now that would not be safe for you, see? There can be cop psychologists who put an influence on you to make you look for your father because they may be looking for him. Careful not to trust shady men to help you who could be pimps. Never any meetings or rides, if some know something you do not know and you are too much, get it? Check with his name on an internet e-mail finding service, if you can find his e-mail and with telephone companies if you can find his number. If you are a Catholic, you could get a priest or some nuns to help. Write to me if you want ask something more.

if I were you I would not want to have any contact with him for how he treated you in the past. if he cared he wouldve changed when you were born. he has always had the opportunity to make the right choices but chose not to even though he had you to worry about. if you make contact with him while he is wanted and dont turn him in you could get in trouble. if has been calling your grandma and asking about you its probably not because he cares but because he is feeling guilty and needs to do something so that he can forgive himself and move on with his life and once again make you no part of his future. there is a reason why the people from the past havent made it to your future and I believe that if you get in touch with him you will only end up getting hurt all over again. the people who have raised you for as long as you can remember, the people who have fed you and clothed you and have given you a home are your parents. the man who you call your real dad was/is/and always will be simply just a sperm donar
