I think you mean income tax - taxes depend on where you live, as different states and provinces have different tax rates. The country tax rates are different, too. You'll get an accurate answer to your question when you get your taxes done at tax time!
I dont think you can be taxxed on 8k in one year. I think (not sure) but you have to make at least 12k before you can be taxxed on it.
