How long do we wait

My fiances and my dog recently went missing from our backyard(we think he got stolen) as he has escaped a couple of times with us not watching him for a couple minutes and usually we can find him within half an hour but its already been almost 5 days since we have last seen him. We arent sure if he was 100 percent stolen but weve done all the options in our heads and we are worried we may never see him again. I am used to having a dog since I was very young so I dont want to live the rest of my life without a dog. So how long do we search for our dog as we have done everything humanly possible to look for our dog we have contacted every vet near us, our city pound, our humane society(where we got him from) and put posters and ads up everywhere looking for him. Since my fiance will be going back to work soon and I get super lonely at home since we only have a cat and hes pretty chill by himself and hes 7 years old(hes got a continous feed and drinks out of our drippy bathtub and have water dishes all over our condo and only wants attention when your in the bathroom or when we are about to go to sleep. He had his rabies tag, city license as well as he is microchipped and tattooed so hopefully that will help someone bring him back to us.
