how long do cats normally live?

I have a 9 year old male cat that looks like he’s winding down…he has spent his whole life outdoors. so..yeah.

I am sorry to say that outdoor cats usually only live to be 8-12 years. verses an indoor cat who can live to be in the mid 20’s. but with good health check up and current on vaccines and dentals he can live longer. you have to play in the factor that with outside cats they have a chance of getting hit by car, traps, other animals, getting abcess that are left untreated. anything like this reduces there life.

Answer #2

Cats are vulnerable to kidney disease…it seems it’s their weak spot. Maybe it’s time to run this old fellow into the Vet?? It would be a shame to lose him over a bad tooth or something.
