How:Is there a way to take out dreadlocks without cutting them off?

My girlfriend took an ice pick and got them out. It took her several days. Buts he ended up with a full head of long hair. I am a licensed cosmetologist and a lady came to me with dreaded up hair from not coming it when she was pregnant for 3 months. I put conditioner in it and took a fine tooth comb and started at the bottom and worked my way up and got it all out. It took hours but was accomplished. Dreads are matted hair. You just gotta be patient and work out the kinks and knots.

I have dreads not and im 15 and ii have had them for 5 years and ii just started takeing thim out and ii just use conditiner and a saftypin . But ii started with a metal tip rattail comb but it works better with the saftypin ! It dose take a long time but my hair is almost to my butt and its not nappy at all like ii thought it would be !

I had dreds and I just used like a bottle of conditioner ( good) stuff and a lot of hair detangler.. it will damage your hair no doubt.. and I brushed and brushed and brushed but eventually my hair was back to normal

I think it depends how you do them, I’ve known people who have done them in a way that require you to burn the ends of your hair, which I doubt is reversible. I also knew a guy who just stopped brushing his hair, and he and his friends would work on tangling it. That’s one way I suppose, depending on how long you left it go you could probably get it untangled. He had it going on for over a year though, son he ended up getting some cut off.
