Best way to avoid cutting myself when shaving? Generally, I use a gillette mach 3 razor to shave my facial hair. I love the razor, it works great, but my problem is I get little nicks & cuts 80% or more of the time. As a result, I only shave 2 or 3 times a week at most, because I don't like cutting myself.
However, my wife loves it when I'm clean shaven, I just don't want to hurt myself. Any ideas on how to avoid the damage?
Use a hot (not so hot it feels like it's burning) towel on your face or stand in the shower and let the hot water soften the facial hair. Use a good shaving cream and a new razor and go WITH the grain of the hair. Going against the grain is thought to give a closer shave, however it's more irritating to your skin, and your facial hair will be the same length at the end of the day, so put yourself through the trouble ?
While not a man i have had to shave lots of them at several points in my life. If you can take the shaving cream off a baloon without popping it in theory you can shave your own face.
Also tho remember exactly HOW sharp a NEW blade is, so you may still nick or cut yourself, lso be careful of the curves of the jaw line, the adams apple and the upper lip areas
Here is an article on how to avoid shaving discomfort. This topic is a little out of my league lol
