Well the amount of pain you'll be in completely depends on YOUR pain tolerance level. But I'd compare it being done to a very hard pinch.
Aftercare: You clean it 2-3 times daily with a warm salt water soak which you do for 5-10mins. Use an antimicrobial soap 2-3times daily. Apply with a qtip, wash off. When cleaning it make sure your hands are clean and rotate it about 3-7times.
And you should clean it until it's healed which normally takes 2-3months.
