How does baking soda help acne?

I read that baking soda helps treat acne and exfoliates the skin. but it won’t help you in the long run because it screws up the pH balance or something. is this true??

Answer #1

Yeah, it’s not a good solution at all. When baking soda causes a pH imbalance, it allows bacteria to multiply, and can cause severe dryness of the skin. Baking soda is known to disinfect and dry out acne. On the other hand, baking soda can further irritate the acne, and cause a horrible burning or stinging feeling.

This all depends on your skin type. Some people have tried it and it works perfectly fine. I suggest you test a small area with a baking soda paste. See how it goes :]
