how do you get a wider upper body

I am 5”9 165 pounds I bench 240 but my bones are so small I look like im 120 pounds so I look really skinny so how do you get a WIDER upper body mainly chest and shoulders

Protein shakes will put on muscle, but I don’t think that is your problem. I may be wrong, but I think you are happy with most everything except the way your upper body looks. Sadly, that is not a problem I have had to do much work with. I look pretty big already. I do remember reading that body builders who do not have naturally wide shoulders will do extra heavy lat pulls to make their back look wider. This helps make their shoulders look wider. I have done that before, and it does work to an extent, but there is no real substitution for being born with naturally wide shoulders.

By what you have already written, I think that proves you don’t need wide shoulders to be healthy, but if your doing it just for looks its just about impossible to stay motivated. My shoulders are 65 inches and I don’t know what my max bench is since I maxed out my benches weight at 520 lbs (550 with bar). But I was born with it. I live in a farm community and we have to work hard and it tests every part of your body hard every day. I pretty much just lift weights to make sure im not getting weaker.
