How do I know when shows are around my area?

please tell me I really want to go to a show…cause there rad And no I do not mean the movies…!

Usually a venue will have there own website, so what I do is just go the the site and check out whats going on there in the next few months and see if there are any shows I want to go to. and if the site doesnt have a link to buy tickets, just put in the venue and show at ticketmaster or something.
