How do I go about starting a metal/screamo band?

I’m the lead screamer/singer in a band that we just formed in Ontario , in a small town. We havent had one practice yet but we have all of our members set. What steps should we take to become a sucessful band in our area?

Get out there, start doing whatever it takes to get shows etc… It’ll probably cost you some money though. If you’re in a small town and no one hosts shows, see about setting them up yourselves. Invite other bands to play, you’ll have to pay them of course, but if they draw people to come see you guys, it’s worth it. Of course, you’re going to have to practice… And try to be a little more original then most screamo bands, if you don’t stand out, no one’s going to remember you. And if you want to try and spread your music out a little further, start a a social site for the band, just make sure you have some decent music when you do this.
