How do I get started donating?
I am curious if it is legal or not to go door to door and ask for money to donate to an animal shelter. Are there any laws about this? Do I have to go to the township and ask or something? If so, please provide the URL with the answer please so I can read about it. Thank you.
I dont think you should go door to door first, you would prob get into some trouble. you could maybe go to the animall shelter and ask them if you could do it or somethin they would prob lert u

First you need to find out if the shelter is a 501c tax-exempt shelter or if they have a group set up to take monetary donations. Asking for money might not be the thing the shelter needs. They might need volunteers or supplies. Talk to the shelter before proceeding. In my city the shelter is not 501c thus any and all monetary donations go into the general fund for the city are would be distributed between all the city programs in the budget. So I donate items…towels, rawhide chews, etc.
It’s not wrong, or against the lawto go door to door to ask for money as long as you have a shelter that you are providing the money for. When you ask for money they need to know what they are giving the money to, who they are going to give the money too, and also many people like to get a confirmation letter that their donation had been recieved. So I would start off by finding a place to volunteer.
