How Do I become an actress?

I know people ask these questions a lot but… im 13 nearly 14 and ever since I was about 8/9 I wanted to be a actress, I’d prefer to be one in Eastenders, Waterloo Road or some scary film, but anything really. I don’t think my mum would let me get a agent, well not right now anyway, but I’ve taken classes and will be doing Drama GCSE. I’m scared to audition as it’s so unlikely I’d get through the auditions. What should I do because I really want to get my dream to come real?

also don’t be scared to audition. do anything you can, even if its not even a speaking role, its always good publicity. for example if you got a small role in an episode of a tv series, they will have your number and name and will most likely pick someone they have already used for a bigger part instead of recruiting new people.

but yeah the biggest thing to do is audition proudly for everything. and don’t sit silently when auditioning, go in with an additude of yeah I can do this. and sometimes they wont want you but you have to keep on trying. never give up.

I’ve done drama GCSE. just try to get the best grade possible. one tip is makle your scenes and costumes as near to the time it was written in as possible. I did this one monologue set in the 1920s and I was a little girl getting ready for her first day of a new school etc, but I wore pjs that were too modern and got marked down :/ lol.

and ALWAYS learn the lines!!! haha I have so many friends that didnt learn lines well enough and mucked it up on stage.

but yeah good luck again haha x

I’m stuck in the same position, I am 13 (nearly 14) and I have always wanted to be an actress, and I have experience, but my mom probably won’t let me get and agent.

I found a website that would let me give them me emil and write all about me and then it would send me an email whenever there was an audition that could work for me, I got all excited and I thought that would work well but then it said I needed to put in a credit card number and I would have to pay to get all that! I don’t have a credit card for gosh sakes!

So now I am stuck with taking drama classes, and I am joining another musical, but that’s not what I want. So I will continueto do research to find out what I can do to become a major actress!

I will let you know if I find anything, In the mean time, just continue to practice and do (join) as many acting classes that you can! Let me know if you find anything as well.. Thanks!

both of you;

you need to get your name out there. do as many acting classes as you can, and as many plays etc. get involved in every school production as close to the main part as you can, and do theatre schools every holidays. since you are both young you have a lot of time. but you have to be prepared to push for yourself. it will be hard work but everyone has to start somewhere. :) my friend did this and now shes 16 like me and is doind big plays all over our country. shes even been flown overseas. you need to start in the theatre industry because thats where talent-scouts go to find kids for their movies. also try taking dance classes too because you need dance in theartre oh and singing too.

good luck though.
