How can you skip scenes in FFVIII?

Can you skip scenes where the characters are just talking in FFVIII? Etc. the scene where Squall an Rinoa are on the Ragnarok. It freezes during that scene so I can’t progress in the story and I’m using a slim PS2. Is it possible?

I don’t think you can… I heard on the old PS2 and the original Playstation (the grey one), you could open the top before the cutscene and close it and it’d skip the scene, but never tried it and I don’t know if it works on the slim PS2. if you think it’s the game’s problem and not the system, put a little hair conditioner on it and rub it in with a smooth cloth. I had the same problem and tried a few things, but the conditioner actually fixed it, shockingly. good luck :)

umm I don’t remember. I would just trying hitting all the buttons, starting with START and see if it will skip them. Or clean that disc with a bit of glasses cleaner or window cleaner. If its really scratched you can try rubbing a bit of car wax on to the disc, then buff it off. the car wax fills in the scratch on the clear plastic so the the laser lens can read data on the silver part.
