How can my aunt get custody of me?

My parents are separated. I lived with my father. My father have kicked me out a few times, for stupid reason. The first time he kicked me out was because I came back home late from seeing my little sister on her birthday (she lives in a different city). He has abused me, neglected me and all that stuff. I sucked it up; I have for years. I had to beg him to take me back. But now he has kicked me out again! Now I live with my mother, who do not have custody of me what so ever. I don’t like it here, for me to come back to a city where there’s violence every where. It’s hard, I don’t want to get involved with any of it anymore. My aunt from the same town as my father said she’d take me in. But my dad found out about it and said if she takes me in he’ll call the cops on her?

Can he really do that, wouldn’t he get in trouble too for doing so? How can my aunt get custody of me? Am I able to get emancipated if I help her pay rent? Please answer!

Check your local laws but I believe if your over twelve or thirteen its up to you as to where you wanna live, but that may just be between the bearers of joint custody. If so, and you and your mother are on good terms then have her file papers stating that you wanna live with her ( your dad cant do anything about that since its your choice) and then either just go live with your aunt or have your mom sign custody over to your aunt. It really all depends on your age and who has custody. You might also try calling a lawyer for this type of advice as different states have different rules.
