How can I turn black to blonde/medium brown..ish?

So I love highlights. I have the most thickest hair and I tried highlighting in but now im just half blonde and half brown. Oh and my highlights are orange.:( really sucky. I’ve been told to just bleach my hair and then dye it whatever color I like…is this going to work? I want a light warm brown and then with highlights. Oh and another question…I’ve been using tin foil while highlighting…anyone have any other tips on good highlighting tools. Screw the cap…not with this thick hair. I don’t know…tomorrow im just gonna bleach it. Wish me luck.

bleach works but it also will burn your scalp really bad I have natural black hair and I have went blonde before use peroxide on your hair then you can make it any color you want
