Black to Medium Brown...how?

Ok, I am naturally Medium-brown. I have dyed my hair permanent natural black for the past 2 years. I want to go back to its natural color. I feel like I’m just damaging my hair. I know it will take a little more of damaging it to get it back but if I never have to dye it after getting it back, then it is worth it. How do I go about getting to the normal medium-brown color from permanent natural black?

the natural way is to let it grow and, get this, stop dying it. you can’t dye the roots. that’s impossible. the fastest way is to shave it and let it grow back.

uhhm, no offense but I doubt she wants to shave it. just stop dying it. I know you probably dont want half black half brown hair so my suggestion would be to do this. your hair grows a half inch to an inch a month, so every month… cut it an inch shorter. and dont dye your hair. your hair will stay at its same length, but you’ll be shortening the amount of black hair you have while your natural color grows back in.
