If a person used a fake ssi number and other peoples ssi numbers to get loans and morgages from a bank. And then commited suicide because they got caught. Can I sue the banks for wrongful death? Because the bank did not do the back ground checks and lent them the money...enabling them to steel and adding in there suicide by the banks lack of security and back ground checks?
This person felt guilty enough to commit suicide as a direct result of terrible decisions he or she made. The bank had security in place, and they willfully circumvented them. It was in no way the bank's fault.
If you put up an electric fence around your business hung with enormous signs saying 'Warning! If you touch this fence, you WILL die!' and someone tries to climb it breaking in, you are not responsible for their death.
The answer is yes, you can sue them. You can sue anyone for anything, assuming you can find a lawyer to process the paperwork. Will you WIN? Probably not.
