In addition to some of the answers given above, you might seek out a riding stable or such and volunteer to help them with the chores. This will help your folks to see that you can care for a horse and keep your grades up and it will teach you what is involved with caring for one. Understand that when you have a horse you have a friend for life. Some horses live for 50+ years. As for some of the expenses of having a horse. You can learn to do trimming or shoeing yourself (it’s not that hard). My horses go barefoot and I teach my students to trim hooves as part of their instruction. Hope this helps.

It’s a matter of being a “responsible person”…that includes grades (that you will apply yourself to the task at hand…might not mean straight A’s and B’s, but that you did your best)…Doing things around home without being asked, says you saw something that needed to be done, and did it (responsible)…Caring for other pets in your home without having to be told to do so, also.

Keep in mind that horses need care every single day…and more when it’s cold and ugly outside…shoeing, tacking and feeding are expensive…they can live till they are over 30 years old…so they are a long term commitment…

If you’re truly a horse nut, then I understand…it’s a “craving” not a “wanting”…right? :) Good luck!!

go to aearby farm and take care of a horse there. or any horse you ride make sure you take care of it so people see that you no what your doin. I ride and show so I do pretty cuh everyhting for my horse.

Answer #5

see if you can convince your parents to let you get a puppy/kitty, and show them that you have enough responsibility to take care of it. horses cost a lot of money. if you were able to pay for all its food, care, and utilities for the horse, and for half the cost of the horse itself, then maybe. but if you dont live on a farm, then it would be twice as expensive. if I were you, I would get a really good paying job.

Answer #6

By doing things around the house, doing things your parents ask you to do, and do things before they ask you!
