How can I get rid of my lazy stepdad?

My mom has been with this “Thing” for 5 years, they have had 3 kids together and it seems like the only thing he does is give us the paycheck. He’s so lazy, all he does EVERY day is sit around and watch tv, he is missing out on his kids, and he stresses my mom out because he won’t ever help her out with keeping the house clean and watching the kids. plz help me get rid of him so my mom can be more happier like she was 5 years ago. Plz, how do I get rid of him??

It’s a decision your Mom is going to have to make…I wish you all the best !!

Answer #2

Sounds like you don’t like your step dad, the “Thing”. Did you two have a falling out before you started feeling this way? Just kidding! “Amblessed” gave you the short answer and the correct answer. The longer answer is that, it is not your place to get rid of your mother’s husband and it is not my right or anyone else on this site to tell you how to get rid of your mother’s husband. That would be meddling, not giving sound advice. But I’m sure we all feel and empathize with how you feel and if it’s any consolation, you are not the only step child in a situation like this. Try to remember this if you don’t remember anything else in this life; “its not how someone treats you or talks to you that matters, it’s how you respond to how they treat you or talk to you.” Sometimes it’s better not to respond at all. But if you do respond try to respond with love. Never be hateful!

Answer #3

Talk to your mum, but at the end of the day you can’t get rid of him, its up to your mum to decide whether she wants to stay with him. Is he lazy, or could he be suffering from depression??? Your mum needs to have a word with him.

Good Luck

Answer #4

Talk to him about this or your mom, if she feels strongly about this too, she can get a divorce.
