How can I get more freedom?

I need to know pleeease. I’m thirteen and my parents won’t even let me go to the movies with my friend without having a grown up there. I’m not “allowed” to have a boyfriend. And she won’t even let me go out with my friend without knowing everything about them. my older brother was allowed to do anything when he was my age and they treat me like a baby. Whenever I bring up that point my mom denies it when she has the worst memory ever and says “you got to have a cell phone before him” and that’s the only thing that I got when he didn’t. he had a girlfriend and got to go to the mall with his friends when he was my age. Please help me. I don’t want to be treated like this anymore.

Youre still quite young, I mean I think you should be allowed to have some freedom, but youre their daughter, your parents are just looking out for you. The thing is I dont think confronting them is exacty the right thing to do as you are 13. Have you asked them why they wont let you go out without an adult? Is there a reason? To me it just sounds like they care, all be it too much.

Talk to them but dont get angry or compare yourself to your brother, you are your own person so treat it that way and dont bring other situations into it. I think talking is the only option, but if that doesnt work just bite your toungue and put up with it for a bit longer, until youre 14, they might be different.

Well still, your borhter was a boy and your a girl, not traying to be sexist but it’s because sometimes a boy knows how to manage a situation better than a girl. So just do what they ask you to do, You dont HAVE to hang out, whats wrong with spending time with your family. Go out to the movies with your borther,a mom or dad, that way you can still go out. Who knows meaby in 2-3 years they can let you go out.

im practically a boy, well tomboy. I grew up with an older brother and two older boy cousins, I think I can manage the “situation” if there was one.
