How can I gain her dad's trust?

I dated my girlfriend for over a year, around 15 months, and I had one major incident with her family that caused me to not have her family like me any more. Her dad’s youngest daughter, around 13, kept bickering at me when I went on a long distance trip with her family(dad, stepmom, 2 step bros, and the two girls). The girl didn’t understand why I couldnt talk to my girlfriend when I was sitting in a captains chair and she was sitting in the far back. I told her to mind others and be quiet and quit acting like a brat, cause she was whining about this for at least 15 minutes. This caused every one in her family to eventually hate me, and we broke up for around 4 months.

Now I’m back dating her, she’s 17, I’m 20. Her dad is starting to trust me again cause I came back for her, and her step mom likes me a lot more cause I came back for her as well. I’m away at college and when I come home, once every 3 or 4 weeks, I want to take her out on a date. Her dad won’t even let us ride together in the same car right now, and I feel that is completely inconvenient. One, it wastes her gas, when she has to pay for it, and I cant say goodnight at her door. I’ve taken her on many dates before, but I really hate his stupid rules.

I agre 100%…My Ex’s Dad didnt like me much at first cause he caught us kising in the living room at her house. I was reased to always Yes Sir, No Sir, Thank you Please so gitting him on myside was pretty easy. I always stood to great him and never let him walk away without Shaking his hand. I would also stand whensomeone left the diner table or when someone stepped out. Just your general 50’s manners sorta thing. I never let his “generosity” go unoticed. For instance when ever I would leave I would thank him for having me and ask if their was anything I could do before I left. It sounds a little messed up to say it this way but really butter him up and tell him exactly what he wants to hear. Eventually you wont even need to an effort. Good Luck.
