How can I convince the most stubborn dad ever to let me keep a dog

Okayy, so here’s the thing:

My neighbour has been taking care of a do for about a year now and all of a sudden they’re like, I don’t want him anymore cause he poops all over the place and destroys everything. We were always the ones that played with him and they would just be in charge of putting it to sleep and feeding it, so the dog obviously always sticks to us and likes us a lot more. It’s a very cute pomeranian but it always has loose fur flying all over the place. My dad thinks the dog is cute too and likes it but he dusn’t like how it’s dirty and he thinks it costs a lot to raise a dog and that it’ll be too much of a burden.

Is it really that hard or is he just making excuses…plus how will I convince him to accept the dog and let him in to our family?? And I betcha, cute faces won’t work. so if I don’t get the dog now, our neighbours might try and find a different owner and we’ll never be able to see him again! And he’s had like 5 different owners and he’s only a year old…I feel so ba for it. PLEASE HELP!!! VERY URGENT ASAP …thankyou =)

he’s knows you want it, but try to make him want it. when ever he’s talking about giving it away just make him llook in da dogs eyes. Trust me, it should help some that’s how I convinced my dad to let me keep a dog. Oh and also this is a true fact. Kids that have active pets stay away from drugs and smoking. And jw.. Do they have a 16 year old kid named phillip? because I live by this kid they have a Pomeranian that they dont want anymore and there is a girl and a boy that play with it. And there other dog niña. Jw. Let me know if were talking bout the same dog!

You’re going to have to show your dad you can train that dog. Can you blame him for not wanting a dog that “poops all over the place and destroys everything”

Answer #3

try talking to your dad in an adult way tell him you will look aftter and be respnsible for the dog. try traning the dog so he wont be that bad and maybe your pops will change his mind and besides pomeranias are adorable.

My dad isnt strict but for some weird reason I cant get, he HATES pets!!!

Which is a bummer, because I would love a pet, a dog or cat or something.

His main arguement was, they dont do anything, they arent useful, all they do is sh*t everywhere, expensive vet bills, and they will die far quicker than we would and we would just be emotionally attatched.

To this day, I have been unable to change his mind. Sorry. If you Do manage please funmail me!!!

Try to make a “deal” with your dad. Show him a responsible schedule that you will walk, crate, clean up, and play with the dog. Tell him YOU will earn the money, pulling weeds in the neighborhood, washing windows, babysitting, anything you can do…and YOU will pay for his dog food, and health insurance…both run about $ 30 a month.Tell him you will also do ALL your homework and keep your grades up. Tell dad you’ll brush him every day to keep his hair under control, and that you’ll buy him a doggie exercise pen, to keep him in, so that he doesn’t cause havoc when you’re not home. This is what I had to do to get my first dog when I was 14. I also had to work all summer for a dog trainer to earn money to buy him ! …If that doesn’t work, walk him door to door in the neighborhood, find him a new home, and tell the new family you’ll be happy to help walk, play with, and care for him.
