House breaking a new puppy!

Okay, I have a new yorkshire terrier (toy) and he is a boy, but I cant seem to get him to use the restroom outside! It drives me crazy! I put him outside and he wont do anything…even if I put him out there for ever, he still wont do anything! But as soon as I bring him inside…he sure will potty then lol! Any advise on house breaking!?

Ok, this is what I did for my dog. ANYTIME he eats or drinks anything-take him out. Each time you take him out, take him to the same spot. Chant to him ‘ Do your business (your dogs name), do your business ‘. Also take him out every 15 to 20 min. My boyfriend and I kenal trained our dog. If we leave or when we go to bed he goes to his house (kenal). And always remember NEVER punish mistakes and ONLY reward sucess with a treat. When he does do his business outside, make it super dramatic and tell him how much of a good boy he is and give him lots of love! Trust me, if you keep up with taking him out and he does do his business and when he does he will know he will get a treat and get lots of love from you! The only thing a dog wants to do is make you happy and once he figures out that going potty outside makes you happy he will be potty trained before you know it :)

umm…you have to take him out every time he wakes up and after eating.and also, dont let him run around the house, make sure he has a blocked off area.and it you see him do it, make sure that you stick his nose in it[not all the way, I know what you are imagining.]but just say no and stuff…dont do that if you didnt see it though, because he wont remember what it is. -I learned all this at the vet today!!mwahhahaha, betcha you were thinkin I was smart for a while there, didnt ya???hehe
