Hmmm..can we hear him?

If a tree falls, but no-one was there to hear it, did it ever fall?

If god is speaking to us, but we cant hear or see him, does that mean he doesnt exist?

Whats your answer for both???

Answer #1

im sure I can plug something else to compare it to.

…something else? That’s easy enough. Something VIABLE? Good Luck, its never been done before…

Answer #2

There is no proof…There is no proof…There is no proof…

…correct…

Repeat that every morning when you wake up; eventually you MIGHT become a little wiser, and your faith stronger. God knows you need that.

People who say this can say this forever and it will never mean that there is no proof.

…and people who say the opposite can say it forever and it will never mean that there IS proof… idiot…

it will only mean that they have not seen any proof period.

…and neither have YOU… period.

People who say there is no proof are both ignorant as well as arrogant.

YOU are ignorant, and YOU are arrogant. YOU are also an idiot. See? This is called being DIRECT.

They are ignorant because they don’t realize their inability to see the proof and they are arrogant because they tell others who have seen the proof that they didn’t.

I love how you tend to limit this ‘proof of God’ to a person’s sense of sight. You’re proving your OWN ignorance… as usual…

lol oh yeah now I remember why I typed this silly question.

it was to see peoples views concerning perception.

personally that is.

even though you didnt hear a tree fall, it could have still fallen correct?

but to yourself personally, you know no evidence of it, unless you go looking for a fallen tree that people speak of that they saw fall. and therefor, to yourself personally, you never percieved or will believe until you see the tree yourself.

is that not the same with God? does it not mostly deal with personal perception?

your not going to believe someone on the spot just because they percieve (or believe they do) an evidence of a God. your only going to start believing until you see an evidence or personal experience correct?

besides you’re saying it wrong. It’s ‘if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a noise?’

I know the saying is wrong, purposely :)

the point of the question was to see if you could understand the comparison :D

Answer #4

Are you taking the piss out of everyone on here Athleta4life? These two scenarios you have provided are not very good examples to use.

If a tree falls to the down, you can see it with your own eyes the aftermath, eg: the tree has been uprooted etc, etc… A person doesn’t need to be there to witness the tree in action.

If God spoke to us (those lucky enough to hear our Heavenly Father’s voice) then really it’s up to the person who heard God to know He DID speak to them…God may provide proof to us he contacted the person (maybe via a sign or something) but if He decide not too, then it’s really through our faith that we as Christians believe this…We don’t need tangible proof to know our Lord exist…He is here, there and everywhere, as far as I’m concern.

I understand your wish to drum into the unbelievers that God exist and I’m sure you earn your brownie points to receive a trip to the pearly gates, but let other people decide… If they want proof God exist before they accept Him into their lives, let them find the evidence or proof they need… ..why should we (Christians) continue throwing stuffs at them trying to make them change their minds?

Answer #5

I guess your right about that one captain.

but the tree was just a simple, I guess bad, example.

im sure I can plug something else to compare it to.

Answer #6

lol

I just wanted to see peoples reactions XD

and I guess it was more philosophical :)

chill out guys lol

Answer #7

We don’t need tangible proof to know our Lord exist…

Actually, you need PERCEIVABLE proof… of which there is none… which means you don’t KNOW your Lord exists, you BELIEVE he exists…

Answer #8

If a tree falls, but no-one was there to hear it, did it ever fall?

…yes…

If god is speaking to us, but we cant hear or see him, does that mean he doesnt exist?

…no…

Were you intending this to be an intellectual or maybe philosophical query?

Answer #9

the point of the question was to see if you could understand the comparison :D

There IS no comparison…

Trees exist. They’ve been to proven to exist. God has NOT. Trees can be perceived in EVERY sense. God can NOT. The existence, function, biological composition, etc. of trees have been thoroughly studied and documented. Again, God has NOT.

There is NO comparison…

Answer #10

“There is no proof…There is no proof…There is no proof…”

People who say this can say this forever and it will never mean that there is no proof. it will only mean that they have not seen any proof period. People who say “there is no proof” are both ignorant as well as arrogant. They are ignorant because they don’t realize their inability to see the proof and they are arrogant because they tell others who have seen the proof that they didn’t.

Answer #11

technically, the tree doesn’t make a noise. The emits waves and vibration, but the ear and brain is what turns it into a noise. So, you make a petty argument.

Answer #12

Just because we didn’t HEAR the tree fall doesn’t mean it never fell.. besides you’re saying it wrong. It’s “‘if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a noise?”‘

You make no sense.

Answer #13

well if a tree falls and no one hears it could be because it happened at night or fell slowly. just because we can not hear or see him speak does not mean he dont exist I beleive in God personelly not sure if I spelt that write lol

Answer #14

Trees are not understood to be omnipotent.
