Can cats get high off nail polish?

I was painting my nails and my cat was all calm and everything… It started smelling the brush now he is climbing up the walls…literitly… Can cats get high off nail polish? If it changes anything the polish was black…

thank you all, except the one who said it was dumb… he is ok. he went to the vet as soon as my step dad… he was all right… he had a sore from when he was stray but he’s ok its all healed up now… Again thanx…

It’s not a dumb question. I did some research and the only thing I found was that nail polish, along with other household products, is poisoness (sp?). It didn’t say anything else. If it was daytime, I would suggest taking him to the Vet but there probably aren’t any open now. You could check the yellow pages. Sometimes, there’s an emergency number. I know. . .call the poison control center. They should be able to tell you on the phone.

Keep looking on the Internet to see how harmful nail polish is to cats.It may affect his central nervous system, but I can’t say for sure.

I dont know that they can get high… but my dog always used to tthrow up when she smelled nail polish as a puppy… interesting…
