How to heal the lumps on my tragus piercing?

I’ve had it for about 7 weeks about 2 weeks ago I got a lump on both sides of the holes I’ve been doing sea salt soak four about 1 week swelling has went down no change in the lump any advice will the lumps always be their?

If you carry on bathing the bumps in very salty water, they will go away. But knocking the tragus accidentally or wearing earphones will irritate the piercing and the bumps could reform. The bumps on my tragus piercing come and go.

I’ve had my tragus pierced for almost 4 months now. I’ve been getting lumps on and off now and just recently because I started wearing earphones again, they came back, a little worse than before but I think that’s because I had my ipod in 24/7. One thing I find that helps is to move the earring around (I have a hoop). I do the same thing with my helix piercing and eventually they just go away. I’m not an expert, but I’d say it’s pretty normal to have lumps, especially when wearing a hoop.

It’s called a keloid… Crush a regular asprin add a bit of water and make a paste. Then take a qtip and drag it in the paste apply it directly on the “lump” and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes NO longer. Also make sure you’re not sleeping on it cause I sleep on my left side where my tragus is and I wake up with it irritated all the time because the keloides are a result of movement so no earphones unless it’s an old school huge hollowed out headset so it doesn’t touch your piercing. You can prop a pillow behind your back so you don’t roll onto your tragus.

Good luck, Rosalina

they might go, they might stay. keep on doing the sea salt treatments and hope for the best. I have had a lump on my top cartalige piercing on my ear and it has been there for like 3 months now. it dosnt make it sore. if you feel pain, swelling, excessive bleeding, or heat, then there is probably an infection. good luck =]

I’ve had my Tragus peirced for almost 2 weeks. The woman who did my Navel & Tragus piercing’s told me to clean them with sea salt and luke warm water, well I tried that and my Navel rejected also it got veryyy red and sore so I got it done again and I used proxcide it worked and it healed very welll.. so this girl told me to use sea salt on my Tragus and I’ve been using proxcide on my ear 3 times a day and applying polysporn right after the cleaning session,

me personally I think what would be causing all these lumps and infections is the sea salt because its not getting the germs and whatever is around there away.

I STRONGLY RECOMMENDED USE PROXSIDE ON EVERY PIERCING YOU EVER GET.

okay boys and girls. NO PEROXIDE. warm saline, warm salt water (make it taste like tears, and seriously, taste it), aspirin I have heard works, I’m trying to tonight. I’ve got bumps on both of my tragus piercings and on my nose piercing. make sure before you try and get rid of the bumps that you change whatever piercing it is to a CBR instead of a stud. also, if your reading this and plan to get one of these piercings, DONT GET IT PIERCED WITH A STUD. also, don’t touch it. the person who said to shift it around is wrong (sorry), but if you shift the piercing around/rotate the CBR, you are more likely to bring crusties and dried lymph inside the hole of the piercing, which irratates it making the bump worse if you have one, or creating one if you don’t. tea tree oil must be diluted if you are going to put it on piercings or else it will dry it out to the point where you are pulling skin off your nose or your trags.

First of all, PEROXIDE is a double no, kills all bacteria, even the bacteria needed to heal. Saline solution is best for fresh piercings. Also, it’s called Keloid scarring, happens with almost every cartilage piercing. I’ve had my tragus for about six months now, they come and go. Safest bet is to NOT TOUCH, don’t play with it at all because Keloid scarring is a result of irritation from movement.

Keep in mind, well meaning people are best to stay away from, as is peroxide. I’m a piercing apprentice, so take my word on this lol

Hiya , I had my tragus pierced two months ago, everything was fine and I had no problems till two days ago when I woke up with a lump on the top of it. I did some researcha and thought it was a keloid but when I went to the doctors, she said she didnt no much about peircings and she decided to pop the lump then it wouldn’t stop bleeding. It swelled up after she poped it and now shes put me on antibiotics. the lumps still there but the top of it is just a scab. I seem to have a lump on the back on my piercing now too.. the doctor said its not infected but im best taking it out but I really dont want to. Any advice ?
