How can I help heal my sprained wrist?

I came off my skateboard today and landed on my wrist. I’m lucky I didn’t break it, but I was wondering what I could do to help it heal faster…? It’s sprained and bruised.

use some sparay……it can be a ligament tear……to avoid further probs….bandage it…..with a crape bandage,,….or anything which will reduce movements

Ice it and make sure its wraped or sopported with something, this way is not hanging like a normal, not sprained, hand is. And also has some pressure on it.

i sparined my wrists twice. I never wore a bandage but you should for support. Ice is great, mostly for swelling. If its kinda bad then it will hurt for like a monthish. I don’t think there is anything else but make sure you dont use it cuz ull damage it.

place a small board (not wider than your wrist) under your wrist and wrap it to you for support. ice it too. i prefer instant ice packs cause ammonium nitrate can get REALLY cold, very fast. but those ICYHOT packs are the best. =) hope i helped renee

I hate to tell you but a sprain is worse than a break and usually takes longer to heal. A break heals very well, because bones are highly vascular, but tendons and ligaments have poor blood supply and take a long time to heal, and they often lose some of their tension resistent properties after an injury. So look after it! Ice, a compression bandage, rest it, and elevate it when you can. Do as little as you can with it for a while (although if you dont move it at all it can get quite stiff and painful) the ease back into using it. Wrist exercises can be helpful too, but be careful with it, as the movement of the muscles are going to pull on the tendons which are damaged.

i also sprained i think my ankle and since im with the horses 7 days a week i never let it heal right and the right side of my left foot is messed up and ankle. I think i ripped tissues and mucles and they never healed so they stayed ripped.. It always hurts a little, moslty if i sit still. (i hurt it when i was running in running sneakers and i flipped foot)

Just dont overdo it, and be aware of how much strain the joint is taking. The good news is its the wrist - Its much worse if its your ankle or something, because it has to take all your weight.
