hamster separation

I have two hamsters in the same cage. One is the mother and the other is the daughter. THey fight a lot but usaully it isnt that serous. last night I heard them fighting for quite a while. and I relized that when they get older they might end up killing eachother. But then a couple minutes after they were sleeping together and the mother was cleaning the daughter. Should I get separate cages?

Well, I would watch them to see what they are fighting about. It also depends on how often they fight. If they’re fighting like once or more times an hour, you need to get different cages. If it’s only like once a day, and the fighting isn’t that seriouse, then no, you don’t need to get seperate cages.

I dont think you shopuld seperate them so quickly if they are mother and daughter…I think you should take it slow…lmao but put like a clear wall btwn them first and then see where that takes you I did that with my hamsters and it worked so good luck
