He is sooo cute. You may have to earn his trust by giving him treats and keeping his food out and only giving it to him when your there so he knows you are feeding him. I dont really know much about hamsters we only have guinee pigs here lol.

I dont think you’re going to change this. Hamsters are like this. Weird animals and with trust…well, I used to have many of them. I couldnt change the way they were. some of thema were nice from the begining, some other - bad and its just about character. On the other hand, its still an animal so I suggest to try with something nice like a special cookie hamster. It might work… Good luck ;)

I have had campbells dwarf hammies, and they will bite because a foreign object is coming at them (your hand) if you want to hold him, put your hand down so that he can climb onto it himself. and if he still bites your hand when you do this, he does not trust you and therefore will protect himself.

I could never pick up my hamster either, she used to bite me. For a while I used a glove until she got used to being picked up and didnt bite. then I took it off. Just remember everytime you go to pick him up stroke him for a bit first and if he is good give him lots of treats like cheese, or hamster choc’s and talk in a soothing tone. if you keep pickin him up daily he will soon start to love it. It can take ages to make them tame sometimes so keep trying! I wish you luck!!! Becz xxx
